There are people who exaggerate too much in this country, that immigrants are becoming a problem. That they need to be back were they came from and that the white people are the first to be in this land, but really belonged to Mexico. Even back then hatred existed and the whites kicked out the Indians and Mexicans of our land saying to us that it was there right to do so that it was "Manifest Destiny".

There is question going around that is "Do Illegal Immgrants have diseases that come to the United States?, Are Immigrants Literally Making you Sick?. These question can make a mexican very mad because you are saying just because we are mexican we are contagious. Dr. Douglass estimated that are at least 8 new diseases that mexicans brought to the United States. Some of those diseases are HIV, polio, and malaria. First of all HIV already existed here, Second how do we know that is not made up. How do we know that this doctor has a problem with illegal immigrants and talks bad about us.

My opinion on this topic is that chicanos have a little bit of more rights than illegal immigrants, but still get treated the same. But there is that amount of chicanos that are giving mexicans a bad name with all the gang violence and that tough guy reputation. Therefore chicano or immigrant you are still a bad person to some people that think that way. My other opinion is that the United States is known as the big superpower, because of it's economy, military technology, and type of government it has, but this country is big with a large population that need food, shelter, and water. By all these people getting these necessities, there needs to be people to work the fields, to be hard labor work to build.

The people who do all this is are chicanos and immigrants, but mostly immigrants. So with out these people doing hard labor work the United States will get a great impact on it. What I'm saying is that chicano or immigrant we should get some credit for what we do for this country.

Chicanos have been abused ever since they came to this country, probably because white people think that they are the elite race in the planet. Also americans don't think hispanics are a use here in the U.S. because they say that we are bad people and that we came to ruin the country. That is true in a way because there is a big percentage of hispanics that do drugs, kill, and do many more things that give hard working hispanics a bad name. Even though there are white people who are racist in the U.S. still. For example I was reading a article in the internet that a chicano got assaulted by a white man.

Altough we chicanos get put down a lot we still keep going and not let any one make us feel bad. So mexicans have orginizations that we form so that we can as a race successfully. Mexicans get put down a lot in this country, people say there is no more racism, hatred anymore, but people are wrong. Chicanos are people who came from Mexican ancestry who live in the United States permanently. Chicanos are natvie-born citizens and Mexican born immigrants that learn how to livein the United States. In 1848 after the Mexican-American war chicano litetature started to take shape, so people still think Chicano litetature is still young. A turning point for Mexicans was in 1848 when the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo stopped two years of conflict between Mexico and the United States. In 1900, Mexican-American culture emerged to be part of the United States culture. World War 2 needed Mexican Americans working in the fields.

War allowed Mexicans to more into large citites were military industries needed people to work in them. One of the orginizations that Chicanos have every year is this soccer championship. This year they did something called the "Grand Finale". That helped young Chicano kids that love to play soccer have a chance to play next to their all time favorite Mexican soccer legends, such as ( El matador, Zague , Alberto Garcia Aspe, and Sol.

Current Affairs

Nissan is a very good program because it gives the opportunity for young latino kids to follow their dreams in becoming professional soccer players. I know because any kid that likes soccer a lot would like to be a famous soccer player, because I like soccer a lot and I want to be a pro too. I have friends that also want to be pros. So it's good that Nissan gives the chance for kids to dream.

Nissan is holding a historical event called the “Grand Finale” (El Juego Supremo) to get with both illegal and Chicano youth that love soccer. Nissan is a major sponsor for (El Juego Supremo) scheduled to be on a Hispanic channel called Univision. It is expected to be 10 Mexican rookie teens and 10 other Americas to try to earn a chance to be trained by some of Mexico’s greatest legend. Every a rookie is eliminated. The finale will be 5 lucky Hispanic along the side of these Mexican idols.

Also Nissan being a big sponsor for a long time in El Reto Final and Nissan Copa Sudamericana have given young Hispanic youth the hope not to give up your dreams. There was The Chicano Movement that was passed because of very well known people such as Ceasar Chavez, Dolores Huerta, Corky Gonzales, and Reies Lopez Tijerina. National leaders saw that these people would to the extreme to help out there fellow Paisas. A college teacher orginized his students and told them that Los Angeles High School had a really big walkout and go to protest peacefully. What these people did to go and protest peacefully really got the point across because when you protest violently you don't accomplish anything and this is what leaders saw and gave rights to the hispanic race.

When you protest it has a negative impact and positive impact as well because the positive is that leaders listen to your opinion and see as brave people fighting for rights, and the negative impact could be when kids walkout of school it gives a really big blow to all the school system. In 1999 Chicanos and Chicanas were still struggling to get a higher education, so it's almost 40 years already and hispanics still have a hard time.

In the U.S. many Mexican-American teachers have been arrested for acts that are not even violent and police say that these teachers were teaching wrong material to young kids. Really teachers are teaching kids how defend their rights and not let no one control you because when you protest police try to stop it, but it's our right to protest in a peaceful way. In my opinion the U.S. is the most controversial country in the world because The united States is supposed to be the world super power and it is a dream land because of all the freedom you have compared to other countries. Still today the U.S. has a lot to improve on because the nation's leaders are trying to get out all the illegal immigrants, but they don't know how, they don't know how to deal with this situation and we are one of the worlds most important countries.

Website Review

These are two really great sources that I've on because they differ from other websites I have visited because other websites are boring and not very good information on them unlike these. The first link talks about how illegal immigrants and Chicanos were pretty much the same because they never really had rights because they were being forced of schools and jobs. It also talks about how each event was taking place like how Chavez fought for farm workers rights in a nonviolent way.

The second site is alright, but at least it's better than other sites I've visited because it talks about how a school had an assembly where student yelled out "Long live the people, long live the Chicano. It's pretty cool to learn about your past you didn't even know. The Mexican race has always been struggling since the Americans kicked us of our land until the past ten years. White people have had the most hate of all people because they did not like black people and Hispanics. This means that white people do think they are the perfect race because if you don't like someone is because you don't agree in their way of thinking so white people think that their way of thinking is right.

Many Americans in this country think that immigrants are over crowding and that they are a pest to them. White people that say all this don't know the value of us working here, not trying to brag, but it is true because many rich Americans do know the significance of immigrants working here because most of them work for them. In The U.S there was a survey that the U.S. has much more land for more than 1 million people to come and live here. You have ignorant white people that say we are over populating the U.S, that clearly shows that they don't know what they are talking about, white people just hate us because that just how they are.These sites are very vital to me because they are the sites I used the most to get my information and are very good to my opinion.

BackGround

In the United States there was one if the most difficult decades that it ever passed through and it was during the 1960s’. There was a lot going on ex. The U.S. was in a war with North Vietnam, and Civil rights, and The Mexican American civil rights movement.

Part1- “Quest for a Homeland”, talks about how Reies Lopez Tijerina used the land grant movement in New Mexico in 1966 and 1967. It shows how Lopez fought to convince the federal government to respect the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo (1848).

Part 2- “Struggle in the Fields”, talks about how Cesar Chavez organizes farmers in Central Valley California. Chavez had several strategies in making farm technology better like boycotts, strikes and hunger strikes where he literally went weeks without eating just drinking water. It was a great way in getting attention to farmers because he persuaded people in a non violent way and also his faith and prayer made him achieve his goal.

Part 3-“Taking Back the Schools” part 3 is one of the best parts because it shows how a Los Angeles has an absence of 1968 students. It is also interesting because students watch their peers forcefully change, seeing the reality of being an alien in this country and what can happen to you. People also find intriguing the numbers of walk outs and the high drop rate, crowded schools, and not enough Mexican American teachers which still today is an issue.

The United States had a very negative impact on Mexico because when they took us off our land and all the Mexicans that had to leave had to go back to Mexico. By doing that Mexico overcrowded and that made it go into a bad economy turn down. The Mexicans that worked in the fields were struggling a lot because one working in the fields is not easy second they were not getting paid well. Schools are still an issue today because we still struggle. How? Well it's hard to adjust to a school were everyone spoke English and had to worry about not getting caught by the border patrol.
