Immigration or Border Security
In the election day here in the U.S, one of the most important topics were the border control issue and the immigration rights. Mexicans had a point of view different from many Americans because Mexicans wanted to make border patrols less brutal and non- violent. Also they want something done in the Mexico and Guatemala borders because there is a lot of bad things happening in the borders. Right there in the borders of south Mexico there is a lot of violence, street gangs are using the borders as an ambush to who ever passes by and take all there money they saved to come to the United States. The events that occur are prostitution and human smuggling.
In the U.S. many leaders think that they need to enforce the north borders of Mexico, but were they really need to work on is in the borders of south Mexico. It is said that Tapachula is the most populated urban area in Chiapas and is the most easiest way for illegals to come to the U.S. In 2005 Mexican cops reported that 3000 members of Mara gang constantly hunt for immigrants that pass. Since 2005 numbers of Mara's members have grown and there was a hurricane that broke a very important transportation that forces immigrants to walk making them wide open for these bad people get them easier. The big problem with Central America and Mexico is that there is a lot of raping and smuggling, and there is no police because most of the police men are corrupted.
There was a protest that white people supported stricter border patrol, the number of protesters was 200 minutemen. These people think that there should be more border patrols enforcing trespassing aliens. There were 200 protesters and in Los Angeles there were 500,000 illegal immigrants that overcrowded downtown L.A. The Minutemen were mad because no one arrested the thousands of immigrants marching in L.A. that day. One of the leaders of the Minutemen wished that the border patrols located in Campo were in Los Angeles that Saturday were the immigrants were protesting.
Minutemen are so dedicated in getting the immigrants out of this country that they volunteer to for any immigrants trying to jump the border. In Temecula there was an act that minutemen supported the anti- terrorist, Border Protection, and illegal immigration act that was passed by the House of Representatives, but it did not go passed the senators who disagreed to it. Minutemen went as far as saying, "stop rewarding the lawbreakers with college tuition, food stamps, and nominal health care". Someone also said that we took there jobs because you go to a construction site and most workers are Hispanics that we took citizens jobs.
